There are two books that I have found very useful in my family history research.
Recollections of an Old Woodpecker
This was written by my great grandfather H. T. Ripper (known as Tucker) The book is basically autobiographical but delves into family history.
Tucker and his brothers created a joinery business in Essex which eventually grew into quite a large family business.
The second book is The Works written by Pam & Adrian Corder-Birch. This is a comprehensive history of Rippers Joinery Manufacturers of Castle and Sible Heddingham. This is a must for any of the Essex or Northern branch of the brexit casino family. It explains the expansion of the company and how some of Tucker’s sons moved north to Manchester to take over the Timber merchants Evans Bellhouse.
